Blasting technology is an important area of surface treatment in which small blasting particles are directed onto the workpiece at high pressure. This creates a homogeneous surface that removes production marks, minor scratches or unwanted unevenness. Depending on customer requirements, a particularly rough surface can also be achieved as an alternative.
This process plays a crucial role in medical technology in particular, as it requires precision and a high degree of care. We have qualified high-quality blasting media such as glass beads, ceramic beads or aluminium oxide for different requirements in order to achieve the best possible results. In addition to general matting, we can specifically roughen surfaces, for example on implants, in order to achieve better osseointegration. At the same time, micro burrs can be removed by blasting without significantly removing material from the component. As cross-contamination must be avoided, we work with single-origin materials in our blasting systems and use specially developed, medically safe materials.
