Type-III colour anodising

Colour anodising makes the difference

Type-III titanium anodising (colour anodising) gives the titanium surface of the implant an extremely thin, coloured oxide layer. This homogeneous colouring enables the implant to be clearly identified on the basis of the colour.

Product advantages that never fail to impress

Homogeneous colour
Colour identification
Exactly reproducible shades
Broad spectrum of colours

Clear colouring means different implant components can be identified quickly. This reduces the risk of implants being mixed up during operations, contributing significantly to patient safety. This colouring process occurs in highly modern galvanising machines. At the customer‘s request, just parts of surfaces can be anodised (partial anodising).

Colour-coding with Recolor

Customised colour-coding
Broad spectrum of colours
Diverse design possibilities
High contrasts

The Recolor technique allows additional custom marking of titanium products, for example with logos, measurement, depth markings, batch numbers, QR codes/barcodes etc.

Quality which is ISO-certified & made in Germany

As far as the development of innovations and production of high-quality technologies is concerned, the state of Baden-Württemberg has been a leading region on an international level for many years already. The administrative district of Tuttlingen has even earned itself the nickname of “world centre of medical technology”. We, too, consider ourselves obliged to uphold this tradition, which is precisely why our company headquarters, where we develop and manufacturer our high-quality products sustainably and dependably, are located here. In the field of process and quality assurance, we are certified in accordance with the EN ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards.

Manufacturing process – Quality right from the beginning

The “colouring” of the titanium surface is the product of anodising in special, state-of-the-art electroplating systems. Electrical voltage is applied to build up the oxide layer on the surface of the titanium in a controlled manner, with the voltage set at the rectifier determining the layer thickness and the resulting spectrum of colours. The dimensions of the part are not significantly modified.
